Love and Justice, Hunger Games Style

We've been bouncing around the idea of a tween/teen Hunger Games discussion group, and guess what - we need bounce no longer!  St. Matthew's Episcopal Church is hosting a Hunger Games discussion, led by Sharon Tan, Associated Professor at United Theological Seminary:

Justice, Love & Courage in The Hunger Games

A discussion for adults and young people who have read the book or watched the movie...... with Sharon Tan, Associate Professor of Christian Ethics at United Seminary

Thursday, April 26, 7:00 PM
St. Matthew's Episcopal Church
2136 Carter Ave at Chelmsford,
St. Paul, MN

We will discuss questions like:
  • Were the Hunger Games fair for the people of Panem? If not, what was unjust about it?
  • Is it OK to kill other people in order to survive?
  • Is it OK to lie or pretend in order to win?
  • What do you admire-- or not-- about Katniss and the other characters?

Palm Sunday

What a fun, full day in Sunday Club!

First it was Holy Week Bingo:

And then the liturgy of the Palms.

Our Hope Chests filled with coins to celebrate and share the gift of water were blessed during our service:

And then....a wonderful Easter Hat Parade visit with the residents of Southview Acres.  Thank you to Carolyn, our fearless leader!
